The way the sky looked before my broken body washed ashore. My silhouette was painted blue against all I thought I knew. And I’ve sure learned not to cling on too tight or he will disappear into the night. If I let him come to close he will disappear into a ghost... ‘Cause time is the wing of a bird And time is every whisper you have heard. As I watched the sky recede I learned how much our world can bleed. As its blood streaked all across the night I opened my body wide... ‘Cause time is the wing of a bird, And time is every whisper you have heard. Time is the center of the earth. Time is every newborn’s birth.

Weather 03:15
The weather has no will. The weather has no will, No, it’s bound to the sun. It’s bound to the sun. I feel the winter’s chill. I feel the winter’s chill, And the sound of no one. The sound of no one. You gave up too soon, you let me go. You gave up too soon, we’ll never know. I’ll never change your mind, I guess we should say goodbye. You gave up too soon, you let me go. You gave up too soon, you let me go.

Easily 05:36
Falling in love comes easily to me in the springtime on the waterline with you. How things used to be; you were not with me, And now I feel you there so easily, so easily. Lying on the floor while the light shines in, while the light shines in. I’ll listen to your voice and the water, and the water. I want nothing else, I don’t want what you sell. Hold me closer, closely, it’s all I need. Things are growing in the ground, oh, they’re growing all around. I feel it in my chest, beating in my chest tonight. How things used to be; you were not with me, And now I feel you there so easily, so easily.

Fall Away 03:42
The way you are with me; Stronger than the sea. Fall away from here. Ripples in the waves and in everything that you say. Fall away from here. May I whisper in your ear every single fear? Will you listen now? Oh, how? All I want is to give, can’t you just let yourself live? Can I love you now? Oh, how? I wait here while you run in fear, run in fear, run in fear. Now all the birds have flown overhead to their homes. I’ll join them tonight. I will join them despite you. I will join them tonight and fall away.

The Desert 02:55
I always cared too well for glory, it would creep into my bed while I slept. It kept me living life for its stories, I figured that’s why I never met... Never met you. And all the while it rolls on without me, I won’t forget the signs I drove past. The desert is littered with musings, oh, how long will I last? He takes every day by storm, Oh he leaves nothing in his past. I could say I had been warned, but reason will always finish last in the face of love. I can’t help myself believe why I’m here, but I won’t be ignored and I won’t let my fears reach me. I still wonder how each lover meets, Guess time turns its back, turns the other cheek.

Shots 03:30
I’m calling all the shots that keep piercing through my heart. I’m being who I’m not, and it feels so strange to forget this pain. Everywhere I stand feels so far away. And everywhere I look seems to fade away to the evening’s gray, To the end of the end. I don’t seem to want a part in such an unusual musical.
7.
Lovers 03:17
Lovers kiss goodbye, in front of the whole world they are not shy. They lock their eyes and throw away the key. To them this life is no mystery. I've been waiting for a train to take me to another time and place. I've been waiting here for a while, so long that I forgot to smile at you. I dreamt last night of all the times I had let love go ‘cause I was shy. And I wept last night as I recalled just how far gone I’ve left it all, it all. Lovers kiss goodbye, lovers kiss goodbye, Lovers, lovers kiss goodbye, lovers kiss goodbye.

Think of You 04:13
9.
Well it’s new year’s eve and I’ve got nowhere to be, while the fireworks explode all over the sea. And still there is no one to hold me. I will wait forever to be held. I will root myself in the sea like a beautiful mangrove tree. And I’ll never be alone. Forever life will build my home. Turning toward the sun my leaves twist upward one by one. But still there is no one to hold me.

about

Laura has refined her own unique voice as a songwriter in her second full-length album, "Fall Away." The album is defined by intricate fingerpicking along with the intermingling of traditional folk music and complex classical harmonies. It showcases the dynamic color and personality of the band Laura played with from 2014-2015 in State College, PA, which includes accordion, upright bass, and drum kit. Many have compared Laura's music to that of Nick Drake, Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple, Laura Marling, and Iron and Wine.
